SOCIAL MARKETING

This is a photo I took of a recipe I created for a blog post during my time working for Hollandia Produce, L.P.

This is an image of one of my team's social media schedules for Golden Boomers International, a senior living company. My team and I came up with themes like these to design our social media content around on a weekly basis.

This is the Spanish poster I created for my team's campaign for Lane Community College's Women's Program.
Social Media and eMarketing for Hollandia
Produce, L.P.
I started off working as the marketing assistant intern for Hollandia Produce, L.P., a national produce company in Santa Barbara. In my position as the marketing assistant I was in charge of a variety of tasks including, creating the content and social media campaigns for the company’s platforms, conducting research, creating and writing customer relations emails, editing articles, and running the company’s blog. In the beginning of my position I was overseeing and assisting with the implementation of the social media by an outsourced social media firm; however, I eventually replaced the firm and ran all of the platforms on my own. After the summer ended, the company re-hired me as a freelance consultant to continue running all of the company’s social media platforms including the blog.
I planned out the social media campaigns and content on all platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google+ and eventually Pinterest, ahead of time to allow for consistency and then added in content to take advantage of trending topics throughout the month. Prior to my position the company did not have a Pinterest site; however, because the company’s target audience was middle-aged women, I thought it could benefit from this platform. After finding statistics and information that supported my argument the company agreed and I created and grew the company’s site. Click here to see one of my social media calendars. I also analyzed and compiled the results of our social media efforts through the site’s analytics, as well as through Vocus, to help shape future content and to report to my supervisor. I designed the blog content around topics that would interest my target audience including, health posts and recipe posts, which I photographed and created, as well as posts about company news and unique aspects of the company. Click here to view one of my health related posts.
Social Media for Golden Boomers International
I worked as an account executive for Allen Hall Public Relations, the student-run PR firm at the University of Oregon. My team’s client was the founder of Golden Boomers International, a senior living company. Our client’s goal was to better reach his target audience of baby boomers.
To achieve this, my team and I launched several social media platforms for the company, and created a new company website to direct people to with the social media campaign we created and implemented. We designed and posted a survey to establish what topics our audience was most interested in and created content in advance around popular senior living topics and themes. We grew the company’s social media followers immensely, gaining more than 600 followers on the company’s Facebook page. My team and I analyzed and compiled all of our campaign results to share with our client in weekly meetings and were successful in reaching and engaging with our target audience. In addition to helping create the social media content for the company, I also assisted in writing and editing blog posts. Click here to view one of my posts.
Social Media for Lane Community College's Women's Program
For my capstone class in the public relations major I worked on a team for a local organization in Eugene, Oregon. Our organization was Lane Community College’s Women’s Program. The goal of our campaign was to increase awareness of the organization’s Women in Transition Program amongst the community.
To accomplish this we rebranded the organization by distilling its key messages and creating new media materials and communication platforms to reach a larger portion of women in the Lane County Community. We created a central video to base our campaign around and set up official social media platforms for the organization, as well as content for the organization to post on these platforms. Additionally, I, along with one other member of our team designed a poster series which are now being put up around the community.
